Originally from upstate New York, Joni and her husband live in Nashville on a small urban farm and botanical sanctuary. She is a seed keeper who is passionate about food sovereignty, as well as about growing and rematriating ancestral seeds to native communities and individuals. Joni as a community-based educator that believed that our ability to grow and harvest food is the culmination of generations of our ancestors sowing and harvesting seeds, and that we have a responsibility, not only to pass this gift on to generations to come, but to also care for the earth. She is also a clinical herbalist, artist, writer, and musician.
