Native Artisan Showcase & Market

Come celebrate and commemorate the debut of the Native American Indian Association’s Native Artisan cohort with a Native market and showcase hosted at the Frist Museum! This event shines a spotlight on the exceptional talents and contributions of the ten Native artisans: Aaliyah Alberts (Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe), Alica Murphy Wildcatt(Eastern Band of Cherokee), Aliyah Myers (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma), Charles Robinson (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma), Dayini Heaven Lossie (Eastern Band of Cherokee), Justin Mihtukwsun (Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican), Kirsten Solomon (Mississippi Band of Choctaw), Nancy Pheasant (Eastern Band of Cherokee), Sonya Monk (Mississippi Band of Choctaw), and Trenton Wheeler (Blackfeet/Métis).

Attendees will have the pleasure of enjoying engaging performances and art-making activities in the courtyard, a seminar sharing Native artisans’ insights and experiences in the cohort in the Rechter Room from 11 am to 12 pm (please note that this is a ticketed event), and the opportunity to shop the market and purchase one-of-a-kind creations directly from Native vendors.
